Daily revision for huffaz

You pause on an ayah or two while reading a page, then carry on. A month later you pause in the same spot. derhatır keeps note of this for you, so over time you can see where your memorization is slipping.

No sign-up needed. Free.

The invisible weakness

You pause on three ayahs while reciting a page.

You finish the page, call it done, move on.

Next month you pause on the same three ayahs.

Normally only someone listening to you would catch this. derhatır is that listener’s notebook.

Try it first

Veiled reading

Tap an ayah; the veil lifts step by step.

Surah al-Fatihah, 1-4

The method

How it works

  1. 01

    Recite from memory

When you open a page the text comes up blurred. You recite from memory, without looking at it.

  2. 02

    Tap where you get stuck

Each tap opens a little more: the first word, then half of it, then the whole ayah. You uncover only as much as you need.

  3. 03

    Finish

You press Done, and that is it. Where you struggled is already clear.

We never ask you “how did it go?” On a page you recite comfortably you do not touch the screen at all, so every tap leaves a trace.

Memory map

604 pages at a glance

Every square is a mushaf page. A page that starts slipping fades, and shines again when you reread it; ayahs you keep stumbling on are marked with a red dot.

Everything the measurement yields

What it does

  • 01

It remembers the ayah, not just the page

It does not stop at “this page is weak”. Months later it can still name the exact ayahs that gave you trouble.

  • 02

    Stumbles that keep coming back

Trip on the same ayah twice in a row and it gets marked. As you start reciting it comfortably the mark fades, and once it settles it goes away.

  • 03

    Your weak spots

Every ayah you struggle with gathers in one list, the shakiest at the top. Tap one and you go straight to that page.

  • 04

    What to read today

The app works out which page to revisit and when. No page is left waiting longer than forty days.

  • 05

    Quiz yourself, quickly

Pick a few ayahs or a page and test yourself fast; you see right away where you still stumble.

  • 06

    A pace you can keep

You decide how many pages a day. If the pace you picked will not let you keep up, the app says so from the start.

  • 07

    Hatim flow

An ordered reading from beginning to end, independent of the weakness plan. If a page is in your memorization map, the measurement still runs there.

  • 08

    Have someone listen

Share a room code; they mark where you paused right from their own screen. No account needed.

  • 09

    Pick your mushaf font

Choose between Amiri, Scheherazade, or Lateef so the page you memorized always looks the way you are used to.

  • 10

    Turkish, English, Arabic

Choose Arabic and the whole screen turns right to left. Whichever language you pick, the mushaf page sits on the same warm paper.

What it does not do

  • It does not try to hype you up. It will not hide it when you fall behind, but it will not nag you either.

  • It does not make guesses about things it cannot see.

  • No points, no badges, no streaks, no leaderboards. This is for memorization.

Privacy

Everything stays with you

You do not sign up and you do not create an account. How far you have come is kept only on your own phone or computer, and nothing reaches us. If you want, you can save all of it into a single file and carry on from where you left off on another device.

Listening

Someone can listen in

You share a room code; they mark where you paused right from their own screen while you keep reading. No account, nothing to install.

Common questions

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No membership, no payment, no ads. Your data never leaves your device, so there is nothing for us to store either.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. All of your progress lives in your browser’s own storage. You can download a single-file backup and pick up where you left off on another device.

I haven’t finished memorizing; is this for me?

derhatır was built for the daily revision of someone who has completed their memorization. It is not a teacher that assigns new lessons; it helps you keep what you already hold.

Phone or computer?

Both, in the browser, with nothing to install. The phone is the primary device for daily reading; editing your map and reviewing progress is more comfortable on a large screen.

What if the mushaf script feels unfamiliar?

You choose between Amiri, Scheherazade and Lateef, so the page always looks the way you are used to.

Choose what you know, start today

Two steps: mark the juz you have memorized, then say how many pages a day suits you. The app picks up the rest from your first few readings.
